The National Medical Commission (NMC) of India has recently obtained a 10-year recognition from the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME). This recognition allows Indian medical graduates to practice medicine in countries that require WFME accreditation. The NMC’s achievement of WFME recognition automatically accredits all 706 existing medical colleges in India, while new colleges established in the next decade will also receive accreditation. This development positions India as a highly desirable location for medical education.
